# Summary view

{% embed url="<https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qo6RFBGigQk>" %}

The Summary view lets you view your notes and all the items you've highlighted, whether in your notes or in the course material. You can access it via `Menu > View > Summary`.

{% hint style="info" %}
Items highlighted with the [**Free Highlighter**](https://github.com/AmaplexSoftware/amanote-gitbook-user-guide-en/blob/main/getting-started/annotate-course-material/highlighter.md) will not be visible in the summary.
{% endhint %}

## Filtering by color

You can also filter by color. If you've highlighted all definitions in red, for example, you'll be able to see all course definitions by filtering on the red color.

<figure><img src="/files/b8bDhVvkoU1NeuPv7YpL" alt="" width="375"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

By default, all colors are activated in the "Filters" menu. Clicking on one of the colors in the menu will deactivate that color. If I want to see only the items highlighted in red, all I have to do is click on all the colors except red.

## Print or export to PDF / Word

You can export summary items as PDF or Word documents by clicking on the corresponding "Export" button at the top of the screen. You can, for example, filter on red and export all definitions.

## Practice (flashcard mode)

Once activated, the practice mode lets you hide the beginning of elements to test your knowledge.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://guide.amanote.com/en/getting-started/summary-view.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
